AREA FEMALE WRITING TEAM ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF FIRST FILM PRODUCTION

Silver Spring, MD (July 12, 2002) – Robyn K. Bennett and Tyler Hamilton, a Washington DC area writing team, begin the production process of Table for Two, a short film that evolved from their feature screenplay. inkFoot, LLC, the independent film company producing Table for Two, hosts the promotional kickoff fundraiser at Whitlow’s on Wilson in Arlington, Virginia this evening. Jonathan Kaplan of the Bicycle Thieves, will provide entertainment for the first of many events to support the production.

The dynamic duo, as they like to refer to themselves, Bennett and Hamilton began writing together at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They quickly realized that they shared similar interests and technique in storytelling. What began as classroom comradery, rapidly grew into friendship, and finally developed into an outstanding partnership. The rest, as they say, is history.

The twosome joins forces with veteran casting director and producer, Kimberly Skyrme. Skyrme brings with her, twelve years in the business and a stellar reputation throughout the industry. Her experience includes Pelican Brief, Beloved, Traffic, and Hearts in Atlantis. On a local level, she recently completed work on the first all-women team for the 48 Hour Film Project.

Filming for Table for Two is slated to begin in September of 2002. During July, August and into September, inkFoot, LLC will hold several events throughout the Washington DC area including their second event to be held at Chrome/Lewie’s in downtown Bethesda on Friday July 26 featuring acoustic rock band Walking Crisis.

When asked why the DC area, Bennett and Hamilton explain, “We find this area to be filled with talent, expertise, and an incredibly helpful film office.”

“Besides,” Bennett says, “I grew up here. It’s home.”

CHECK PLEASE: TABLE FOR TWO FINISHES FILMING

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Silver Spring, MD (October 7, 2002) - No longer do fast-paced Washingtonians who reside or conduct business in the Lincoln Park side of town have to detour 50 feet around the façade of The Park Café. For that matter, Andalu on 18th and M Streets NW, can give itself back to the Washington D.C. night-life seekers. inkFoot Films has finished filming the romantic comedy Table for Two and is heading into Post Production.

Since the middle of September, residents of the Capitol area noticed something funny going on at one end of Lincoln Park. But for cast and crew members, it was no picnic. The production was demanding and consisted of taxing hours, as early as 3:00 am and running upwards of twelve hours per day. Andalu found itself leaving the doors open for inkFoot Films at the wee hours of the morning. Fortunately, they were already there wrapping up a night of social trysts. Despite the long hours for cast and crew, everyone worked diligently and, with the endless efforts of the D.C. Film Office, Table for Two managed to keep within the constraints of the strict schedule that independent filmmaking requires.

However, it was not all work and no play. While filmmaking involves sincere focus and dedication, there is always time for a laugh and the members of Table for Two enjoyed their experience tremendously, ". . .in fact, I don't think there were enough on set pranks," says director Robyn K. Bennett, "[pranks] are a necessary part of the process, otherwise I think we would all go crazy from the stress that production in and of itself tends to breed." Creative partner, Tyler Hamilton concurs, "When you're spending that much time with people, you better have a sense of humor, or else very bad things are liable to happen."

And with the plotline Table for Two offers, who wouldn't laugh? Brian, on his first date, feigns Scottish heritage in an effort woo Kira, a young Scottish immigrant. Billy, known to many as Nascar due to his family background in the sport of stock car racing, is past the wooing stage and is using this evening to propose to his refined girlfriend, Jessica. Despite both Brian and Billy's efforts to create the perfect evening for their dates, they end up in rather unique situations.

With filming under their belts, inkFoot Films has placed Table for Two in the capable hands of DuArt Film Lab in New York for Post Production needs. inkFoot expects the Post Production process to go through the last month of 2002 and look forward to entering the new year as an active participant of the 2003 Film Festival circuit.
